Meet Brooke Scollin

I played Fan, Belinda Cratchit, and Martha Cratchit in A Christmas Carol roughly from 2002-2006. I started while I was in elementary school and finished up while I was in middle school. I always loved to sing, dance, and entertain which led me to audition for the play! I have memories that I will cherish forever. I never went much further in theater. I was in high school musicals but I also played sports so I could never dedicate that much time to it. I went on to graduate from the University of Dayton and now currently work as a Physician Assistant for an orthopedic spinal surgeon in Ohio. I still love to sing, dance, and entertain, it just looks a little different these days! Cheers to everyone embarking on this adventure - once a Carol Kid, always a Carol Kid!

Meet Jaclyn Holmes

I was in A Christmas Carol for four years (2011-2014), the first three as a Londoner/Mourner/Belle Child, and my last as Fan. Since being a “Carol” kid, I went on to pursue a BFA in Musical Theatre with a concentration in dance at Roosevelt University’s Chicago College of Performing Arts. Now a freshman at CCPA, I am absolutely loving every minute of exploring the theatre scene in Chicago, as well as everything else this beautiful city has to offer. I am also in an acoustic duo with my sister - the Keynote Sisters - based out of Lake Orion, MI, and we recently released our new EP, “Rose Colored Glasses” this past August! We are both active songwriters and plan to do a Michigan/Midwest tour this coming summer of 2020. I feel so grateful to have been part of such a wonderful community that helped me to be where I am now - I will always hold my ACC family close to my heart.

Meet Adrianne Kriewall (now Fazel)

I first performed in A Christmas Carol in 1988, when I played the roles of Boy Caroler, Fezziwig Guest, Want and a Londoner. I performed in the show for seven consecutive years, also playing Fan, Belinda Cratchit and eventually the Ghost of Christmas Past, which was a dream come true. I was also seen in MBT’s production of Inherit the Wind.

After completing high school, I went on to the University of Minnesota in Minneapolis where I decided to pursue a career in Audiology. I graduated summa cum laude from the U of MN and went on to complete my Master’s degree and Doctor of Audiology degree at the University of Minnesota and the University of Florida, respectively.

Professionally, I spent the early part of my audiology career at the Henry Ford Hospital as a senior staff audiologist where I took on roles such as the clinic coordinator for the Detroit campus as well as coordinator of the Newborn Infant Hearing Screen and Audiology Externship programs. For the past five years, I have been working at Advanced Bionics, a cochlear implant manufacturer, most recently as a Senior Technical Specialist. Personally, I have been married to my husband Jason for nearly 19 years and we have two sons together.

While I took a break from performing on stage after college to focus on my family and career, I recently returned to the stage, acting in local productions such as Jesus Christ Superstar (Mary Magdalene), Girls’ Weekend (Carol), A Few Good Men (Lt. Cmdr Joanne Galloway), Mame (Pegeen Ryan), Rosencrantz & Guildenstern Are Dead (Rosencrantz), All My Sons (Sue Bayliss), Lucky Me (Sara Fine) and Dracula (Lucy Seward).

Of my time at Meadow Brook - “I enjoyed every bit of my time performing in A Christmas Carol, and am so pleased the tradition has endured. The training, experiences, and friendships gained at MBT have remained cherished memories. I am quite certain I can still recite nearly the entire script from memory, as can many others who have held this show near and dear to their hearts, and can often be found quoting lines to my family and telling A Christmas Carol stories around Christmastime.”

Meet Grant Cleaveland

Not unlike former President Grover Cleveland, I served two non-consecutive terms as A Christmas Carol child actor, first as a Belle Child at age seven & then as Young Scrooge at age 13. In the years between my roles in A Christmas Carol, I was seen on the Meadow Brook Theatre stage as William in Frankenstein as well as Max in The Legend of Sleepy Hollow. I have kept pursuing acting since my Belle Child days, having just graduated this past May from Michigan State University with a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Theatre Performance. I am planning to move to Chicago in the very near future to continue pursuing acting and comedy writing, but in the meantime, you can catch me playing Victor in Cabaret at the Jewish Ensemble Theatre through November 3, 2019.
